It was during my origional training as a general nurse and a midwife in the 80s that I became interested in alternative methods of pain relief for chronic and acute pain and also the pain of labour. I trained in the 90s in Reflexology, and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal medicine, Reiki, and Chigong.

I have always been fascinated with the concept of energy, and how when it is in the wrong place within the human body, it may result in disharmony, and illness, on all connecting levels, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It was clear to me that use of only one system was too narrow, and there is indeed a need for healing to come from many sources not excluding from the most important source which is from within. I offer an integrated and intuitive form of healing, using various systems, depending upon the needs of the individual.

Whilst doing my acupuncture internship in one of the Nanjing University Hospitals, I witnessed how eastern medicine is so honoured and used collaboratively alongside western medicine, within the hospital and general health care system in China and the far east. Also the use of Chigong energy healing is vastly used within the Oriental medical system, alongside the encouragement of daily Taichi practice for individual wellbeing.

Over the course of the last decade, I have done post graduate training in various systems of acupuncture including with Jeffrey Yuan. He teaches Classical Acupuncture, herbal medicine systems and Chigong, all of which encompass the original teachings of the Oriental Medicine system which embraces the psychological, spiritual, esoteric and shamanic elements.
I also trained and continue to train in teaching Taichi and various Chigong forms, both which I have offered over the last 20 years in classes and workshops.

Always with a deep sense of enquiry into the nature of mind and spirit, and into the origen of trauma, this led me to study a type of psychology (transpersonal) which theory supports the idea of how the mind and physical body are totally inseparable, and what happens to us before and after birth and whilst in the womb, and during the birth process itself can have a lasting impact upon our lives.

I trained in the Grof Transpersonal Training system with psychiatrist Dr Stanaslov Grof and Tav Sparks, along with several other teachers, in Holotropic Breath-work. I certified in 2012 as a facilitator and have been offering since 2007, personal growth workshops and breath-work workshops. In 2021, I joined the team of teachers and facilitators in the 3 year training program for Grof Legacy training (www.gltnordic.org)

Also knowing that there is no separation between us and nature, I spent over 15 years working in close communion with and in deep exploration of various shamanic traditions.
I undertook training in Celtic Shamanism with Caitlin and John Matthews, both renowned writers and teachers in Celtic mythology, and shamanism. I am able to offer shamanic healing from this tradition.

Using all my skills, I am able to work intuitively and assist each person to access their own inner healing wisdom as they sit with me.

The idea of collaborative and complementary medicine has been my passion and I have created and managed over the past 20 years various holistic multidisciplinary healing centres, including Fairgreen Holistic Clinic in Naas, Co Kildare, and Goldenspears healing Centre, in Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow.

In 2014 I created an acupuncture department within one of the Fertility IVF Clinics in Dublin, Sims IVF Clinic in Dublin continues to be the only centre in Ireland that openly honours the use of acupuncture alongside their western medical protocols of treatment. I continue to work in close association with Sims IVF Clinic and also with other fertility centres in Ireland.

In March 2020 I created Danu Lodge with the idea to provide retreat and healing for those who are needing rest, sanctuary and peace.

At Danu Lodge it is my honour, along with several others, to offer guidance and counsel to those going through major life changes and who are on the path of self discovery, and deep transformation at this time of great change for humanity.

I have spent 25 years helping people find relief from Pain, Stress and Anxiety. I started my healing practice in Naas in 1995 before moving to Ballymore and then Kilkenny. Over the last 25 years I have worked to deepen my own spiritual healing through continuous training and practice and as a result my healing work has become very intuitive and deeply guided.

During my training in numerous modalities and going through my own healing, I came to realize that nothing is more important than remembering who you are! And by that I mean that each and everyone of us is a thread of Divine Energy . I humbly hope to help you experience your connection to the Divine and to clear the illusion of separation which 3d reality has imprinted upon us.

If my words resonate with you ,we will work to gently clear the old stories and create a new one, using the therapies listed below ,some Light Language and Sound and some help from the Angelic realms.

  • Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

I am a biodynamic craniosacral therapist with a background in physiotherapy.

I am passionate about supporting people on their journey to health, wellbeing and empowerment from a holistic perspective. Through my training in biodynamic craniosacral therapy I learned about the connection between trauma and our health and how we can gently release old experiences of shock and trauma and rewrite the stories towards empowerment and wellbeing.

My background in Physiotherapy gives me a good understanding of the body’s anatomy and physiology and typical ailments and problems we might seek help for. I have a particular interest in helping women on their journey to better health and empowerment.

My background:

Originally from Germany, I came to Ireland 8 years ago. I graduated with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy in the Netherlands in 2011. Towards the end of my studies, I developed a keen interest in body awareness, the body-mind connection and was looking for a more holistic approach. I started to explore yoga, Pilates and BodyMindCentering… looking for what I really wanted to do. Eventually I discovered biodynamic craniosacral therapy which combined my interest in body awareness/embodiment and hands-on therapy and also taught me about dealing with and healing trauma. I trained in Dublin with Body Intelligence Ireland and graduated as a biodynamic craniosacral therapist in December 2015. I also recently started a yoga teacher training here in Ireland with Earthwise yoga.

In my free time I love being outdoors where I go walking, hiking or cycling or tend my garden. I also enjoy doing yoga and pottery. My love of travelling gave me many valuable experiences and brought me to many places all over the world but more importantly taught me about connecting to nature and shifting my perception to one of a felt interconnectedness with nature. In craniosacral therapy I tune into that felt sense of interconnection between the body, soul and nature as one whole.

So what is “biodynamic cranio sacral therapy”?

Rather than imposing a strategy from the outside or manipulating tissues biodynamic craniosacral therapy gently guides you to a journey of self-healing that is both safe and empowering. As the practitioner I help to create a safe space and facilitate a connection with your innate health and ability to self-regulate and self-repair. It is your body that creates the changes needed to be in better health. There is an amazing intelligence within our body, the forces that helped us to grow as an embryo in the womb are ever present within us striving to seek balance and health.

I like to compare our body to nature. When you give the right space for nature to grow and do not intervene in the striving for a balanced ecosystem, nature always finds her way. The same way if we can allow our body to drop into a space where we feel held and safe to let go, slowing down to a pace in which nature and our body as part of nature thrive, the body will find it’s way to re-balance and heal. Dropping into this space I then “listen” with my hands (and embodied presence) to your body’s health expressed in slow rhythms and fluid motion that I am trained to feel. Patterns of tension show themselves and are acknowledged and allowed to be released after which the body’s tissues and fluids re-organize and re-balance.

Most clients report feeling deeply relaxed, often empowered, more grounded, safe or “in their body” after a session. Other possible benefits include a decrease in tension, pain and anxiety, healing of traumatic experiences, a more regulated nervous system, meaning feeling less stressed.

Because this therapy so greatly benefits the nervous system and helps your nervous system to regulate, it can help with all kinds of conditions and symptoms that often have their root in stress or trauma.

This therapy is non-invasive and very gentle and therefore suitable for people of all ages including babies and the elderly.
