SUMMARY:Weekend of Grof holotropic breathwork & shamanic journeying - 14-16 August
DESCRIPTION:Join us to surf your inner landscape in a holotropic state of consciousness. The vehicle is your body – the technology is Grof breathwork – the fuel is your breath  \nWhat are Grof holotropic breathwork and holotropic states of consciousness? \nEssentially the Grof breathwork healing system enables us to learn more about ourselves\, to heal and to open to our inate wisdom. Historically Grof breathwork has its origen in the healing modality of holotropic breathwork created by Dr Stanislav Grof and his wife Christina in the 60s. It has evolved over the years and there are now two strands\, with 2 different training schools for transpersonal therapists. \nIt has 3 components: \n• Breathing\n• Music\n• Focused Energy Release Bodywork and Mandala art work \nFollowed by a sharing and healing integration circle. \n  \nBreathwork has supported many people in many different ways on their journey. It can be: \n• a powerful method of personal transformation and healing\n• an insightful personal enquiry tool to know thyself – light & shadow\n• a self-empowering way (because you do the work) to re-integrate fragmented parts of ourselves that may have been split off through guilt\, shame\, fear anger\, sadness over years of conditioning by significant others\n• a highly experiential complimentary therapeutic technology to psychotherapy\n• used to access ideas and inspiration from the transpersonal realm to improve an individual’s way of being in the world for not only the wounded but for the artist or scientist or student or inventor. The dreamlike images that can be presented in expanded states of consciousness often contain solutions to questions on our minds.\n• a deep self-care approach for the healing and helping professional\n• an evidenced based tool that can get to the root of and heal addiction and depression\n• supportive in the healing of previous emotional or physical trauma; in reducing the symptoms of depression\, anxiety and stress; in emotional expression & release and for creative inspiration. \nMany people report that Grof breathwork has been instrumental in helping them to connect with who and what they truly are and what their lives are about. A deep sense of calm and peacefulness may result from this type of work. \nThis event is in three parts: \nFirst\, a live\, on-line\, 2 hour introduction to breathwork \n\nThis is an important preparation session to build the container and the safety for individuals and the group. It will allow you to go deeper into your experience. \nWe will be talking about: \n\nthe format and what a session looks like\nwhat can come up in a session and why\nhow you can get the most from your session\nthe different roles of breather\, sitter and facilitator\nsafety\, safety\, safety\n\nHopefully you will understand that you will not be able to breathe if you do not attend this introductory session. There will be no time to go over it on the day with you. \nSecond\, the Retreat commences at 5pm arrival at the venue greeted with hot soup on Friday evening \nWe will open the Retreat weekend with a Talking/Sharing Circle\, and Shamanic drumming journey. \n\nOn Saturday – First Breathwork  session is. in the morning and the Second one is  in the afternoon. Each participant will breathe once and sit once– each session is about 3 hours. You will be partnered together with an ‘anam cara’ during each session.\nIntegration – starts with mandala drawing after each breathwork session and continues with a sharing after the second session and a light supper in the evening\nDance to shake off the residue of the breathwork experience with a fire ceremony.\n\nSafety is priority and as part of that participants need to complete a medical form as part of the registration to assure suitability as this type of work is not be suitable for certain medical or psychological conditions. \nThird  \n\nIntegration continues with a deep sharing circle on Sunday morning and we complete with lunch at 1pm. We will invite you to attend a post workshop integration sharing circle one week later where you will have an opportunity to share your insights and wisdom with your fellow journiers and to have further support where needed.\n\nFacilitators: \nYour facilitators are: \nClaire Mathews +35 387 2380259 – claire@shanbolard.com \nKate Curtis +35 387 232 5383 – kate@danulodge.com \nPlease feel free to contact either of us to clarify any queries you may have. \nVenue: \nDanu Lodge is a secluded retreat and healing centre in the hills above Gorey\, C0. Wexford and is in a stunning setting\, surrounded with natural beauty. \nEvent exchange & bookings: \nThe exchange is 380 euro and includes full board\, a light supper when you arrive and vegetarian organic food. \nIf finance is a barrier to attending the event please do get in touch – we may be able to offer a payment plan \nYou can book for the event – Kate@danulodge.com \nWe look forward to “adventuring” with you. \nKate & Claire \n

SUMMARY:Sweat Lodge on Friday 28 August at Danu lodge
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to come and gather with us to drum sing and chant\, in this beautiful cleansing and healing ritual.\nCeolanna-Elizatbeth Scott from Glasgow will be leading the Sweat. She has been leading lodges for over 30 years and combines the traditions from our Celtic lands with the Lakota traditions. \nPlease see below how this ritual has been also part of our Irish/Scottish culture historically. \nThe Sweat Lodge is an ancient form of purification and a way of healing and integration for Body\, Mind\,\nSpirit and soul consciousness. \nIt is through ancient song\, prayers and honouring the “old ways” you will experience a deepening of your\nconnection to Mother Earth as we sit together\, in ‘The heart of the creator’ \nSweat Lodge ceremonies have been experienced globally for centuries \, with the Celtic Tribes referring to\nthem as Sweat Houses. \nThe Celts\, particularly the womenfolk\, used this safe and supportive space to express their deep\nsorrow\, sounds of grief\, to mourn or keen freely the loss of a loved one and use this sacred space\nfor mental\, emotional\, spiritual and physical cleansing. \nIn the Lodge we are invited to connect with mother earth\, our ancestors’ spiritual realms and spirits of the\nland where we honour and celebrate with them\, can receive deeper guidance\, as they too are ready to heal\nwith us and the land in our present day. \nThe structure of the lodge resembles a womb; the interior lodge poles are the ribs of the pregnant mother\nguarding her womb; the centre-fire is her eternal heart. The sacred smoke carries our ancient prayers and\nheart-songs to the creator’s wisdom and can heal earlier unresolved ancestral issues. \nTraditional sweat lodges often have three or four rounds or doors\, each associated with a specific aspect\,\nsuch as welcoming\, cleansing/healing\, creation\, and gratitude. Each round is dedicated to one of the\nsacred directions with the spirits and elements being honoured in prayer. Typically each door or round\nlasts 20 to 30 minutes and often longer\, depending on what presents in the Lodge. \nBefore entering the sweat lodge we are smudged with sage to aid with the ritual purification. It is usual to\noffer up prayers\, share your thoughts with others\, and ask for the release of pain or suffering\, as well as\nset intentions or goals. It is an all day event\, as we gather in the morning to help prepare the lodge\, and light the fire to heat the stones.\nIt is indeed a sacred ritual. \nTo book – HERE \ncontact kate@danulodge.com  or Elizabeth – stillpointheart@gmail.com for enquiry\nExchange  120 euro

SUMMARY:Weekend Sanga Meditation retreat with Mark Ovland on 11-13 September
DESCRIPTION:  \nMEETING OUR LIVES WITH LOVE \nIf we’re interested in freedom\, peace\, or a deeper sense of wellbeing\, the\nBuddhist teachings point us somewhere surprisingly simple: look at how we’re\nrelating to our experience. What is happening to us in any moment is of course\nsignificant\, but even more important is how we meet that. Whilst some ways of\nrelating tend to bring contraction and difficulty\, others open the heart and mind\nto greater ease\, warmth\, and possibility. \n\nMindful ‘bare attention’ and metta (often translated “loving-kindness” or\n“boundless friendliness”) are two such skillful ways of relating. On this retreat\nwe’ll practise with both of these approaches\, whilst also placing them within a\nwider field of possible “ways of looking” that can lead to a freer and more\nspacious sense of life. \n\nOver the weekend we will practise both in stillness and in movement (as much\nas each body allows)\, and there will be meditation guidance\, dharma talks\, and\nplenty of time for questions. Outside of these times\, the weekend will be held in\ncompanionable silence. All levels of experience welcome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the teacher \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMark began practising meditation in 2008 and spent the following four years living and\nworking in retreat centres and monasteries around the UK and Asia. Motivated to make\nthese precious teachings more widely accessible and available\, in 2013 he co-founded\nFreely Given Retreats and soon afterwards pioneered taking mindfulness courses into UK\nprisons. In more recent years Mark has been especially engaged with environmental and\nsocial justice issues. He was a close student of the late Rob Burbea. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArrivals 3-5pm Friday 11th September. Retreat ends at 4pm on Sunday 13th September. \n\nRetreat costs per person: €270 (includes full board and lodging – please note accommodation might involve sharing a room with one or two other retreatants). \n\nAll meals will be vegan for the duration of the retreat. \n\nFor those considering travelling from the UK\, ferries from Fishguard and Pembroke docks in Wales travel daily to Rosslare Port in County Wexford\, Ireland. \n\nMark is dedicated to studying\, practising\, and sharing the Dharma. In line with a tradition that stretches all the way back to the Buddha\, Mark gives all of his teaching and support freely\, and is wholly reliant on the generosity of others for his livelihood. At the end of the retreat there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to Mark\, if you would like to support him to live and teach in this way. The upfront fee for the retreat covers your food and accommodation and Mark’s travel expenses only. \n\nThis retreat has been organised by the Wexford Sangha – a meditation community based in County Wexford\, Ireland\, aligned with the Insight Meditation tradition as practised at Gaia House retreat centre in Devon\, UK . \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo find out more and/or book your place on the\nretreat please contact Matt at matt.york@tuta.io \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
